Mike Muncer is a London-based podcaster, presenter, journalist, producer, editor and creator & host of the award winning The Evolution of Horror podcast.

As someone with a lifelong obsession with TV, film and horror, Mike has carved out a successful 10+ year in these particular areas.

With over ten years of experience in the industry, Mike began working in television production in 2010 across various productions for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky and has since branched out into working on film journalism, producing and hosting podcasts, hosting live events and workshops and appearing on several TV and radio shows as a contributor.

Being a massive movie nerd, Mike produced BBC One’s flagship film review show, Film 2018 with Claudia Winkleman for several years and also worked as a freelance video producer for outlets such as the BFI, MTV and Little White Lies.

Mike ventured into the world of video essays when he became producer and senior editor of BBC Inside Cinema, producing and editing over 100 cinema-related video essays.

In 2017 Mike launched The Evolution of Horror podcast, which began as a passion project and hobby, but slowly grew a life of its own to become the most successful UK horror cinema and ‘Film History’ podcast. By 2021 EOH became Mike’s full time job and had expanded to include spin-off podcasts, live events, screening tours and videos.

Since launching the podcast, Mike has become one of the leading voices in horror history in the UK and has contributed to Empire Magazine, Empire Podcast, BBC’s Front Row and several documentaries to talk about the history of scary movies.

Mike has also produced and hosted official spin-off podcasts for films, such as Hello Sidney, a Scream-focused podcast commissioned by Paramount and Dead By Dawn, an official Evil Dead podcast commissioned by StudioCanal.

Mike also guest hosts screenings, events, lectures and runs podcast and film journalism masterclasses to help others get a foot into the industry.
